People who wear contact lenses are usually pretty rigid when it comes to taking care of their lenses. Making sure they are cleaned on a daily basis, keeping them free of bacteria and protein buildup is part of their daily routine. Most will often store them overnight in case with the right solution and have a separate contact lense travel case for the times they are not spending the night at home. What many contact wearers may not realize is that the lense cases, both ones they keep at home and their contact lense travel case may be riddles with bacteria that has been washed off their contacts.

While a contact lenses travel case can be designed to fit your personal lifestyle, such as being embellished with images that match your frequently traveled destinations, the need to keep them clean is paramount to maintaining good eye health. Typically, a person will remove one contact lens, clean it and rinse it to remove any bacteria and protein, place it in their contact lense travel case and then repeat the process with the other lens.

In the morning, they will rinse their lenses and place them back into their eyes, dump the liquid out of the contact lense travel case and move on with their lives. That night, they repeat the process, with little attention being paid to what microscopic organisms may be alive and well in their case.

Tap Water May Not be Best Cleaning Medium

No matter how clear the water may appear, there is always the possibility of small bacteria living in the water and when it gets in the case, it can easily be transferred to the contacts, which will then go into the eyes the next morning.

Blindness affects one in every 30 Americans, meaning that chances are you're going to encounter someone who has impaired vision. Not everyone knows the proper way to behave around people with impaired vision. The most important thing to remember about the blind is that they're just like anyone else, only they can't see. That , first and foremost, should determine how you treat them. Here are some specific tips:  Blind people are not mentally deficient, uneducated or deaf. That means they can understand adult explanations at a normal volume.  Similarly, blind people are capable of asking for what they need and of answering questions put to them.  Taking pains to avoid sight-oriented language is likely to be more awkward for a blind person than simply using words and phrases such as “see,” “look” or “watch out for.” Blind people are familiar with these terms.

Never pet or feed a guide dog, even a cute one. Guide dogs are highly trained working animals and don’t respond well to distraction.  Remember to always greet the blind when entering their immediate surroundings and to let them know when you are leaving.  Don't leave a door ajar, which could be dangerous; the door should either be fully open or fully closed.When helping the blind cross a street, make it clear you are talking to them so they know they are about to be assisted. Even when not accepted, an offer of assistance is usually appreciated. If you relax, you’ll make it easier to sense when you’ve reached the curb.  Walk in a straight line and avoid any unnecessary or sudden movements. Why Do People Bully Glasses Wearers?

Whilst browsing I came across some really terrible figures when it came to children wearing glasses. Many of them do not understand why they are being picked on and so many of them also want to not use their glasses anymore simply because they are  being bullied, but why is this?

It would be wrong of me to say that every single glasses wearer is smart as this is not true but the smart ones are the ones bullies often target. This is on the whole anyway. The reason that kids do this is because they know the geekier kids are a lot cleverer than them and they also know they are more superior than them. Many fo the children wearing glasses have had their confidence slowly pushed away so they find it hard to fight back.

• 20% if children have seen classmates actually skip one or more day of school because of bullying they received when it came to glasses.
• 1/4 of all children are upset about their glasses because they have to wear them to school
• 50% of children do not wear their glasses when they should be
• 50% of children that wear glasses are called names.

Some of these figures are crazy, they make you realise how big the problem is. One of the first steps to take when it comes to bullying is simply ask them to ask the bullies to stop doing it. The next step is to ask your child to make a name for themselves. Most bullies are not smart at all, use this. If none of this is actually working then you need to go into the school or speak to the parents of the bully, this could really help.

So when you think glasses don’t always think cool police glasses and aviator glasses, think about the normal people that wear cheap glasses.
